Our expert, Jean-Marc Hubertus, describes this wine:

Just 15 minutes from Aix-en-Provence, the Château du Seuil estate covers 320 hectares of woodland and vines. Here fine, elegant wines with a unique character are created with the utmost respect for both terroir and nature. The vineyard has 55 hectares which are entirely within the Aix-en-Provence protected designation area and stretch from the Puyricard plateau to the top of the Trévaresse hills at an altitude ranging from 350 to 450 metres.

The terroir here is particularly suitable for growing vines. The stony, clay-limestone soil, typical of the area, enjoys fantastic exposure to the sun and in the summer the hot, dry weather is tempered by cool nights due to the altitude and proximity of woodland.

This altitude also limits the alcohol content of the wines, ensuring that they remain extremely fresh. Lastly, the vines enjoy good health since the Mistral blows continually and this reduces the risk of disease.
