January’s Wine of the Month
2017 Italian Zinfandel IGP
Berlin Wine Trophy Gold Medal and 98/100 points in Luca Maroni’s 100 Best Italian Wines Annuario
A bright, intense ruby red colour, the wine has a complex nose of black fruit, plum jam, red flowers, cocoa and menthol. On the palate it is fruity, rich and opulent – followed by a lovely long, velvety finish. To enjoy this wine fully, we advise you to decant it two hours before serving it at a temperature of 16-18 °C.

Zinfandel has dark-skinned grapes and makes up almost 10% of the grapes planted in Californian vineyards. Analysis has shown that genetically it’s similar to the classic Primitivo grape variety grown in Puglia in Italy. This Epicuro Zinfandel, lovingly produced close to sun and sea in the traditional terroir of Puglia in southern Italy, will delight anyone who enjoys a wine boasting wonderful roundness.
