Masca Del Tacco - 2018 Susumaniello
Berliner Wein Trophy GOLD Medal
A dark ruby red colour with hints of purple. On the nose are aromas of blueberries and ripe red fruit, then notes of tobacco and aromatic herbs. On the palate, this wine is elegant and powerful, fresh and fruity with ripe tannins, followed by a delicious, lingering finish. To enjoy this wine to the full, we would advise you to decant it an hour before serving it at a temperature of 16-18°C.

In 2010, guided by his father Armando’s experience, Felice Mergè bought and restored a building which had long gone under the name Cooperativa Comunale dei Produttori di Erchie, and used since 1949. Renamed Masca del Tacco, the building has been restored to its original rural glory. However, in addition it has now been fitted with the very latest equipment and uses innovative production technology with the aim being to produce the finest quality wine without losing any traditional character. Since then, Masca del Tacco has extended its vineyards in Veglie and Torricella. The heat of the soil and sea winds from the Salento peninsula, the hard-working hands of the farmers are all factors that produce these distinctive wines with their highly complex and pronounced character.
