Hip Hooray for Mandarin Oranges!
If mandarin oranges top the plates of goodies brought by St. Nicolas, offering a little sunshine with their colour, this is because their delicate flavour always makes them a real treat. Mandarins have sweet, juicy flesh – being one of the least acidic citrus fruits – and because of this they’re particularly popular with children. Like all citrus fruits, they contain lots of vitamin C that helps boost our capacity to fight off horrid winter colds. Small and easy to peel, mandarins are also the perfect fruit to pop into a bag for young and old alike to take with them when out and about – a healthy way to keep them hydrated and refreshed.
